HOUSTON, TX— Today Community Justice Action Fund (CJAF), a project of Tides Advocacy announced a partnership with Annie’s List Training and Engagement Fund, a Texas based advocacy group to turn out Black women voters on the issue of police violence for “Get Out the Vote”, or GOTV efforts in the final days of the elections.

“We are proud to partner with Annie's List Training and Engagement Fund. Black women have always been an indispensable voting group, and by investing in engaging Black women, these efforts will play a major part in securing victory in 2020 for leaders uplifting community based efforts to end gun violence and police violence.”- Amber Goodwin, Executive Director, Community Justice Action Fund

“Research proves that women of color, especially Black women, are primed to care about these issues. They are knowledgeable and they are passionate, even those who vote infrequently. With this partnership, we will engage those infrequent voters and will do everything we can to encourage them to make their voices heard, in this the most pivotal election of our lives. We're confident that Black women voters will collectively drive change this November.” - Royce Brooks, Annie’s List Training and Engagement Fund

Community Justice Action Fund and Annie’s List Training and Engagement Fund believe that Black Lives Matter. Black Women Matter. To bring change, both organizations believe that our country needs laws that will remove violent cops and invest more in social workers, drug intervention programs, and mental health first responders.
